Death of a Romantic Poet

the Muses

A tsunami engulfs the
old ancient relic
O it is awful but inevitable
a dead poet for a foot rug
in homage to progressive
intellectual conundrum
No need for forms
syntax or rhyme
they are cliche in past tense
do free form like Bruce lee's
jet kune do
first an eye gouge then a groin kick
finish off with a spinning back fist
and lay the romantic past
six feet below the ground
on the tombstone beside
the weeping muses
engrave the words
"here lies the soul of a poet "
bludgeon to death by 21st century
cro-magnons
and buried in modern
contemporary concrete
and steel girders

weeping angel
weeping angel

a mismatch of words mix by NUTS
drop first in a Hoover
wash and spin dry
then put in a kitchen blender
shred and abstract beyond
human constructed consciousness
a one way street for the senses
into the profound realm
of the senseless
knock your head off the wall
better than dope with some
hope to experience
nirvana in 3D
while dripping a kaleidoscope
of blood on the worn out carpet
as you zig and zag
to the toilet bowl to puke
your guts out
then write your opus
in politically correct
Manila paper soiled
by yesterday's leftover lunch
of flied fish and flied lice.

That's pretty depressing - but effectively so! %-)

Hi Nellieanna,I didn't mean to depress you.I wrote this more as a satire to poke fun at some contemporary poems that I couldn't make head or tails of.
